Blood Draw Add-On
When done alone (without the basic blood draw) prices are higher and there is a minimum of 20 tests.
In addition to the basic blood draw:
- Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA); PSA can be an indicator of prostate cancer in males.
- Thyroid Profile — T3, T4, T7, TSH; This test measures thyroid gland function, which is related to multiple metabolic disorders.
- Homocysteine; This is a relatively new cardiac health marker, which more accurately describes an individual's risk of atherosclerosis when used in conjunction with a full lipid panel.
- Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C); This test measures average blood glucose over three months as opposed to a standard blood glucose test, which measures it over the past hour and requires fasting. This is a more accurate means of identifying those with, or at risk for, Type II diabetes as well as monitoring effectiveness of treatment and slowing the progression of long-term diabetic complications. (See alternative, instant HbA1C, test)
